15th Annual Pink the Rink Raises $15,000 for the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester
The 15th Annual Pink the Rink hockey games brought a big win for all, with $15,000 raised for the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester.
During this year’s February 1, 2025, event, the Pittsford Panthers hosted back-to-back JV and varsity games against the Victor Blue Devils who they defeated in the varsity game with a score of 5-0. Both teams incorporated pink into their game-day attire as a symbol of solidarity in the fight against breast cancer.
Since its inception in 2010, Pink the Rink has grown into a signature event for Pittsford Hockey, raising over $120,000 to-date through corporate sponsorships, admission proceeds, T-shirt sales, Chuck-A-Puck contests, honor sign sponsorships, and game-day collections.
The tradition began 15 years ago, thanks to the vision of Celeste Frohm, a dedicated Friends of Pittsford Hockey Board Member. Inspired by a similar event she experienced at the State University of New York at Fredonia, Frohm helped create a community fundraiser that has since become a highlight of the hockey season, creating lasting memories for players, families, and fans.
